Congratulations to Kelly on being recognized for her excellence in teaching with  UVM’s Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Award in the Senior Lecturer Category. Kelly inspires her students and she inspires us in the A2E community – we are very proud!

Kelly is a PhD student in UVM’s Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. She worked with Vermont’s mobile home park communities during Tropical Storm Irene recovery efforts in 2011; both as a researcher and as a volunteer, Kelly has witnessed firsthand the impacts of climate change on rural communities. Those experiences serve as her motivation for pursuing community teaching experiences and transdisciplinary research as part of E4A training. This Excellence Award recognizes faculty for excellent instruction, as well as for their skills and commitment to different areas and community values such as encouragement for learning, innovation in teaching methods, engagement with cultural diversity and inclusion, ability to motivate and inspire, among others.
