All E4A students are expected to arrange an internship with an organization working in some way on applied ecological economics, with special preference for internships with E4A partner organizations. Each student is responsible for establishing the connection and clarifying their relationship with the organization. The internship experience should be for a minimum of 120 hours (145 hours would be the equivalent of a 3-credit course, and some students will be able to arrange credit at their home university for the internship if desired). The internship can be done at any time during the student’s first three years with E4A (2 years for Master’s students) and may be organized however works best for the student and the organization. The internship partner organization should also be asked to write an evaluation of the student and submit it to the student’s advisor.
